Casa Esperanza Transitional Home for Women and Children warmly welcomes Diane Contreras as the newly appointed Executive Director. With an impressive leadership background and a dynamic track record, Diane is perfectly positioned to spearhead transformative initiatives and propel Casa Esperanza towards groundbreaking achievements.

Diane’s journey to Casa Esperanza is paved with significant accomplishments, notably her role as Director of Operations for Flood Bakersfield Ministries, where her leadership prowess and deep insights into the homeless service system were prominently displayed. Her tenure as Chair of the Bakersfield-Kern Regional Homeless Collaborative’s Lived Experience Advisory Board further underscores her unwavering dedication to community betterment.

Her expansive 29-year tenure in the nonprofit arena, with more than two decades in management roles, has seen Diane at the forefront of crafting and implementing programs that have significantly altered the lives of those grappling with homelessness. Diane’s resolve and heartfelt dedication have been instrumental in the transformation of numerous lives.

As she steps into her role at Casa Esperanza, Diane’s own words reflect her commitment: “Being part of such an outstanding organization is an honor. I am eager to build on the solid foundation laid by the board and introduce innovative approaches that will empower our women and children towards a path of stability and success.”

A native of Kern County from Arvin, and equipped with a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Fresno Pacific University, Diane’s deep-seated knowledge of the local context and her strong community ties are invaluable assets in addressing the unique needs of our residents.

Diane will begin her role as Executive Director in July 2023, infusing Casa Esperanza with her passionate dedication to service and leadership excellence. We are confident that under her guidance, our mission to eradicate homelessness will be greatly advanced.
